Wilson Baloyi
B.Com (Hons) Financial Management Sciences, CFA
Wilson is a corporate finance executive at Java Capital. Prior to joining Java Capital Wilson was a manager in the Valuations and Modelling team of a Big 4 audit firm where he worked on valuation engagements for clients in various sectors including technology, hospitality, manufacturing, telecommunications, and energy.

Andrew Brooking
Andrew is a corporate finance executive and founding director of Java Capital and began his career as an attorney, qualifying in South Africa and in the US as a member of the New York Bar. He has extensive advisory experience in the listed property sector, in private equity and generally in capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. Andrew was a partner at a major law firm in Johannesburg for several years, working in areas of commercial law including stock exchange and capital markets regulation and mergers and acquisitions.

Thys de Beer
Thys is a corporate finance executive and director of Java Capital. He began his career at one of South Africa’s leading audit firms as an article clerk. Post articles and prior to joining Java Capital, Thys spent 8 years at a large South African investment bank before moving to its holding company in the role of investment executive.

Tanya de Mendonca
Tanya is a corporate finance executive and director of Java Capital Trustees and Sponsors. She is an admitted attorney and notary public having completed her articles at one of the large law firms in Johannesburg before electing to specialise in company secretarial work. Tanya has more than 8 years’ experience as a company secretary and legal advisor, and has been company secretary for a number of listed companies.

Simone Jones
Simone is a dedicated JSE sponsor specialist at Java Capital. She joined Java Capital in 2004 from the sponsor and investor relations unit of the Corporate Finance and Advisory Services Division of the Johannesburg branch of a global bank.

Kevin Joselowitz
Kevin is a corporate finance executive and founding director of Java Capital. He co-founded the business in 1999 after having been a partner of a major corporate law firm. Kevin has advised clients on a number of significant mergers and acquisitions, IPO’s, private equity transactions, corporate restructurings and listings and has an in-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment impacting on corporate activity in South Africa.

Michael Oosthuizen
Michael is a corporate finance executive at Java Capital. Since graduating from Stellenbosch University, Michael performed an internship at a South African REIT to gain experience in the listed property sector. Prior to joining Java Capital, Michael qualified as an admitted attorney at a boutique corporate commercial law firm in Sandton, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and general commercial transactions.

Daniel Ross
Daniel is a corporate finance executive and director of Java Capital Trustees and Sponsors. After graduating from Wits University, he joined an investment holding company, where he gained experience by rotating throughout the various group companies. Before joining Java Capital, Daniel worked in the sponsor division of a corporate finance boutique.

Antonie van der Westhuizen
Antonie is a corporate finance executive and director of Java Capital. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and CFA Charterholder. Antonie completed his articles at one the leading audit firms and spent two and a half years in their Valuations & Economics Advisory team. Antonie joined Java Capital in May 2016.

Jason van Wyk
Jason is a corporate finance executive at Java Capital. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant having completed his articles at one of the Big 4 Accounting Firms whereafter he was a manager in their financial services advisory division for 2 years. Jason joined Java Capital in September 2020.

Shivani Bhikha
Shivani is a corporate finance executive and a director of Java Capital. She has experience in advising on the regulatory environment impacting on a range of corporate actions including listings, mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Java Capital, Shivani has worked at the JSE and the corporate and investment banking division of one of the leading banks in SA.

Gregory Wilson
Greg is a corporate finance executive at Java Capital. He gained experience in the South African property and banking sectors whilst completing his articles at a big 4 auditing firm in Johannesburg whereafter he was a senior consultant at NYSE listed consulting firm. He joined Java Capital in 2023 and is a qualified Chartered Accountant and CFA Charterholder.

Ernest Marais
Ernest is a corporate finance executive at Java Capital and a director of Java Capital Tax Advisory. Prior to joining Java Capital in 2023, Ernest was a director at a well-known law firm in Johannesburg specializing in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, structuring solutions, and tax. He has extensive advisory experience on cross-border transactions ranging from the tech sector to infrastructure projects. Ernest is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and holds a B.Com LLB (University of Stellenbosch) and LLM (University of San Francisco). Ernest was the recipient of the Cali Award for Excellence for the highest marks at the University of San Francisco.

Michael Nathan
Michael is an executive at Java Capital. Prior to joining Java Capital in November 2024, he was part of the Financial Engineering Group within the financial services division of a Big 4 accounting firm

Matthew Gerrish
Matthew is a corporate finance executive at Java Capital. Matthew studied actuarial science at the University of Stellenbosch and did his Masters in Risk Management of Financial Markets at the University of Cape Town. Prior to joining Java Capital, Matthew spent time in the global markets division of a large investment bank where he gained experience in valuations, XVA pricing and fixed income.

Stephen Rose
Stephen is a corporate finance executive at Java Capital, specifically focused on digital infrastructure. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant from a leading audit firm, Stephen spent two years at a boutique corporate finance firm, before joining a commercial property fund. Between 2014 and 2024, he worked in the telecoms sector, where he held various senior positions in one of South Africa’s largest fibre network operator and internet service provider groups
